Hay un cangrejo en mi zapato!

Rowan gave a scream and a 'Stop the Car!' just a few miles from Playa Samara. We were on our way 'home' to Monteverde when he found a crab in his shoe. He had tried to put it on before getting in the car but decided to get into the car shoeless and put them on while in transit. He was probably worried Dad would leave him behind (again) if he didnt hurry. Rowan left behind....is another story. The little shriek came after the the crab pinched and then dropped out in the side pocket of his door. We pulled over after finding a safe place to do so (difficult on a one lane road with two way traffic). Dad bravely extracted the crab from the narrow door pocket and released him into the nearby jungle. Will be make it back the few kliks to the beach?
Neat to hear Rowan descrbe the crab story, colors and all, to his friend this morning...completely in Spanish!

Hey Forest tell Sage happy birthday. I can't believe that there was a crab in Rowan's shoe. It looked pretty big. It looked like fun when you were riding the horses along the beach. I miss you soooo much!!!!

Hi Sage:
Happy Birthday - remember me? I was the "older" tree in Oz........so glad you are having such a great adventure and experience there in CR.....glad to see your family is there on a visit? if I am reading this correctly? or did all of your sibs go there with you to school? Pictures are great - can't wait to see more - have a great time there and learn a lot about the land, culture and people. You'll never forget these experiences ever! My best to your family also.
Fondly, Rose Marie

It sounds like you are having quite an adventure! Sage - your class is currently studying Latin America with me. I don't remember who is researching Costa Rica, but I will have them check out your blog. We are on break right now. Happy Birthday!
