Pseudostigmatidae The Helicopter Damselfly

OK, here is the damselfly that Dad has been chasing around. This is a damselfly, called the 'helicopter', with an unusually slow flight and very long and slender abdomen. They look like something that should be hooked to a remote control. They have huge delicate black wings with yellow wingtips. We finally found some at BEN (Bosque Enternal Ninos) in Monteverde. They lay their eggs in the forest in tree holes or tank bromeliads. They are really cool to watch. When they stop beating their wings they just drift. They alight and disappear and then with a flash of yellow and black they take off again. This is one of the shorter movies. I can upload others if ya'll are interested.

Ciao for now,

Forest

Hey Forest!! Kelsey and I are in study hall and I got my braces on today. They don't hurt that bad but they feel weird. Our 1st lacrosse game is on Wednesday and we are playing Fairport.
